O’Scanlon calls on Bayshore Tea Party and their slate to withdraw support for Peters

Three time Monmouth County Sheriff Candidate Dan Peters worked as an Account Executive for RedFlex, the ‘traffic safety’ company that has been implicated in an ongoing federal criminal investigation into a $2 million bribery scheme in Chicago.
Peters’ LinkedIn profile included the job on his resume from 2010-2011 yesterday afternoon. Today, the job has was removed from his LinkedIn profile. MoreMonmouthMusings called Peters twice yesterday and once this morning to ask him about his resume and education. He did not return the calls.
Peters admitted to working for the company on Saturday May 4 while speaking before a group of activists from Campaign for Liberty, according to Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon. O’Scanlon, the New Jersey champion of the fight against red light cameras, was an invited speaker for the group’s meeting. Peters and the LD 13 Tea Party backed candidates also spoke at the event which was held in Hightstown.
“RedFlex is an amoral company that got kicked out of Chicago for giving bribes,” O’Scanlon said, “Their products do not improve traffic safety. On the contrary, we have proven that their red light cameras increase the likely hood of traffic accidents. They exist to entrap people and steal their money, plain and simple. The company and their employees know it.”
O’Scanlon said the fact that Peters worked for the company means one of three things:
1) He likes red light cameras.
2) He doesn’t like red light cameras, but will sell out to people who give him money.
3) He didn’t do his homework.
“In any event, Peters has no business calling himself a Conservative and asking for Conservative’s votes. The Tea Party and the rest of their ticket should either withdraw their support of Dan Peters for Sheriff or stop calling themselves Conservatives.”
Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden said he is opposed to red light cameras. “They are dangerous, an invasion of privacy and a scam,” said Golden, ” I don’t believe in red light cameras or any photo radar.” He declined to comment on his primary opponent, Peters, having worked for a red light camera company.
